Water Supply Pipe Installers

WaterSafe is a one-stop resource for consumers to find approved contractors in the UK. Take the next steps toward becoming a member today.

Scope: An approved Water Supply Pipe Installer can issue certificates of compliance for work to install, repair or maintaining the supply pipe (the underground pipe).

  • It is limited to work on the pipe supplying premises from the external stop tap up to the point of entry of the pipe above floor level in a premises where an internal stop valve is normally installed


Step One: Check you meet the following requirements to become a member:

  • You must have a recognised Water Fittings Regulations qualification. The full list of qualifications we accept is here.

  • WaterSafe approved businesses and installers must commit to the terms and conditions, including ensuring that only approved Water Supply Pipe Installers issue a certificate of compliance in accordance with the terms and conditions.

  • Have £2 million of public liability insurance and, where appropriate, £5 million of employers’ liability cover.


Step Two: Sign up to one of the six Approved Contractor Schemes who make up WaterSafe:

  • WaterSafe is made up of six Approved Contractor Schemes and the route to becoming approved by WaterSafe is through one of these schemes.

  • Find out which scheme best suits you and fill in your application form – don’t forget to select the option to join WaterSafe when you fill this in.

  • If you’re already a member of the one of the six schemes, just ask them for a WaterSafe form to get signed up.
