RPZ Valve testers are not approved to issue certificates of compliance for any commissioning, testing or installation work of RPZ valves or other water fittings or plumbing systems or work on waste pipes or drainage systems.
In order to join the WaterSafe Register RPZ Valve Tester scheme, Testers must have:
A recognised qualification in RPZ Valve Testing. The full list of qualifications we accept is here.
Have an up-to-date calibration certificate for their test equipment, which meets the Approved Installation Method (AIM) requirements. See here.
WaterSafe Register-registered businesses and RPZ Valve Testers must commit to the terms and conditions.
Have £2 million of public liability insurance and, where appropriate, £5 million of employers’ liability cover.
WaterSafe Register has two Approval Schemes, which offer an RPZ Valve Tester sector, and the route to becoming approved is through one of these schemes.
Find out which scheme best suits you and fill in your application form – don’t forget to select the option to join WaterSafe Register when you fill this in.
If you’re already a member of WIAPS or SNIPEF schemes, just ask them how to get signed up to WaterSafe Register. This may be done automatically on renewal.
